Presence, intellect, profound strength, and the ability to articulate personal experience in a public setting made Jeffrey Deskovic our first choice for a guest speaker. Jeffrey’s transformative impact at Harvard Divinity School and across the campus will be felt for a long time.

“The impact he has on people he speaks to is like nothing I have ever seen before… People are speechless and moved by his words. After hearing Jeffrey, people want to take action to make the criminal justice system a little bit safer.”

About Me

i am jeffrey Deskovic

I was wrongfully convicted of the murder and rape of a classmate at the age of 17 and spent half my life in prison for a crime I did not commit. I was finally exonerated 16 years later based on DNA evidence. After experiencing first hand how broken our criminal justice system is, I emerged determined to prevent what happened to me from happening to others and helping those who have already been wrongfully convicted.

MY commitment

I’m committed to raising awareness of the injustices that exist in our criminal justice system and of the kinds of reform that can be implemented to improve it. To support this effort I founded The Deskovic Foundation to exonerate the wrongfully convicted, participate in speaking engagements and media interviews, meet with elected officials, and share knowledge with law enforcement, judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys. I am a advocate for justice, compassion, and the power of personal perseverance.
